Avg not updating virus database
AVG version 7.5 is officially dead, finished, done..more support, no more updates."End of 7.5 version support Support for AVG 7.5 products ended on April 30, 2009. Avast is your last choice for free or paid AV support that I know of .This support covers all home and SMB/enterprise solutions, and includes all updates and 24/7 technical and sales support." AVG 7.5 Free Edition still works on my computer but I had to update the virus database manually after downloading the required files from the AVG website. Been using Avast on ME probably for like a year and half now because AVG 7.Keeping your computer safe from viruses is extremely important, especially if your computer is connected to the Internet.Antivirus software can help you keep your computer safe, but only if you keep its virus definitions up-to-date.XP would not work with my optical drives and there were no updated drivers from the LG site for those drives . Have you tried it recently, like within the past couple of weeks?
Links to popular antivirus programs are listed further down this same page.On the left hand side, double click on "Update" top open it. I have managed to find the two files Snuki mentions but I cannot see the Tools menu on my AVG 7.5 that Ed123 discusses.Click on "Manage" and choose the option to "Delete temporary update files". I am trying to upgrade my old virus definition files not the ver of AVG that I am running under Win95 :-) Can someone help ?Avast works great and doesn't take a lot of resources either. Not sure what I'll do when they stop support guess it will be time for a new computer . "AVG 7.5 Free Edition still works on my computer but I had to update the virus database manually after downloading the required files from the AVG website"Really?
